This remarkable limited edition IWC Aquatimer was first released in 2010 to mark the 100th birthday of legendary underwater explorer and documentarian Jacques-Yves Cousteau, nicknamed Le Commandant. Both a pioneer in oceanic research and a passionate campaigner for conservation, Cousteau is a true icon and hero, famous for his trademark red woollen hat. Since 2003, IWC has partnered with the Cousteau Society, which works to continue the great diver's legacy, and this watch was made specifically to raise funds for restoring his beloved research vessel, the Calypso. Le Commandant's image is engraved on the caseback.
