Tanaka

Tanaka is the New York label Sayori Tanaka founded in 2017, after years as a knitwear designer at Yohji Yamamoto and a global design lead at Uniqlo. Its concept, clothing that bridges the past 100 years with the next 100, shows in collections built around denim and Japanese textiles, with Akira Kuboshita as co-creative director. Tanaka won the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2023, was picked as a Bergdorf Goodman Radar designer, and was named winner of the Fashion Prize of Tokyo 2027 in September 2026.
