Monies

Gerda and Nikolai Monies, trained goldsmiths, founded Monies in Copenhagen in 1973 and built it on jewellery made from natural materials: amber, wood, horn, shell, fossils, pearls and stone, combined into bold, sculptural necklaces, earrings and cuffs made by hand in their workshop at Toldboden. The house marked its fiftieth year in 2023 under the founders' son, Karl Monies, now its creative director.
