Vik Tailor opened MKI Miyuki-Zoku in Leeds in May 2010 as a concept store, borrowing its name from the Miyuki-zoku, the 1960s Tokyo youth tribe who adopted American Ivy League style. The own-label menswear soon became the focus: clean, Japanese-influenced clothes at accessible prices, sold from its flagship in the city's Corn Exchange, further shops in Leeds and Leicester, and stockists including Harvey Nichols.
