Converse

Converse was founded in 1908 by Marquis Mills Converse in Malden, Massachusetts, as a rubber shoe company. Its All Star basketball shoe arrived in 1917 and took the name of Chuck Taylor, the player and salesman who promoted it, becoming one of the best-selling sneakers ever made. Nike bought Converse in 2003, and the company is based in Boston. Beyond the canvas Chuck Taylor and the Chuck 70, it makes the One Star and other classic court shoes.
