Christopher Kane

Christopher Kane, from Newarthill in North Lanarkshire, founded his London label with his sister Tammy in 2006, and his debut of short, bandage-tight neon dresses set off a fluorescent summer in 2007. Lace, PVC and crystal, and a taste for provocation, became recurring themes, and Kering held a majority stake from 2013 until the Kanes bought it back. The company went into administration in 2023, with the siblings keeping the name and intellectual property; in 2026 Kane became creative director of women's ready-to-wear at Mulberry.
