99% IS

Seoul-born Bajowoo was hooked on punk after seeing a show in sixth grade, and launched 99%IS- in 2012 while studying at ESMOD in Tokyo, first showing at Tokyo Fashion Week with the spring 2013 collection. The name refers to the sliver of culture most people ignore, which for the designer and friends makes up 99 per cent. The clothes rework punk through streetwear and tailoring, with studded leather jackets and trousers, safety-pinned knits and D-ring jeans, and have been worn on stage by Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and BIGBANG.
