Accessories

Brooklyn-based Slash Objects combines unexpected materials to create sustainable high-end homewares. Arielle Assouline-Lichten, alumni of the Harvard Graduate School of Design, founded the award-winning studio in 2014 as an extension of her multidisciplinary design firm, Slash Projects. Assouline-Lichten’s work focuses on the circular economy, exploring how design can transform waste into desirable objects. Each piece is handcrafted using recycled and sustainably sourced materials such as terrazzo, rubber, marble, and brass. Elegant rounded corners, sharp avant-garde shapes, and natural marbled colorations are a hallmark of its designs and can be found on everything from mats to baskets and furniture. Slash Objects works with local experts and craftspeople to bring its tactile and minimal aesthetic to life, best exhibited in the construction of its tables and benches, which use a slick joinery technique to link the stone and metal seamlessly. In placing sustainable design at its core, Slash Objects turns recycled materials into covetable contemporary homewares.
