Quickly becoming Chinese athletes' go-to brand for Olympic wares, Li Ning garnered widespread attention due to clever guerilla marketing at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Li Ning's unique approach to athletic apparel—drawing inspiration from the West while utilizing innovative materials—gave the brand appeal on both sides of the globe, and has since allowed it to contend with global heavyweights Nike and Adidas.
