Pioneer

Pioneer DJ grew out of the Japanese electronics company Nozomu Matsumoto started as a radio and speaker repair shop in Osaka in 1938. Its DJ line began in 1994 with the CDJ-500, the first flat-top CD player for DJs, and its CDJ players and DJM mixers became club standards. Run since 2020 by AlphaTheta, which launched its own product brand in 2024, it also makes DJ controllers, headphones and monitor speakers.
