3.1 Phillip Lim was founded by the designer Phillip Lim and Wen Zhou, named for the age they both were when they started it, and debuted at New York Fashion Week in 2005. It helped define accessible luxury, with easy tailoring, relaxed dresses and bags such as the Pashli. Lim stepped down as creative director in November 2024 after the label's 20th anniversary collection, and Zhou continues as chief executive and owner.
