Sacai

Sacai was founded in Tokyo in 1999 by Chitose Abe, who had worked as a patternmaker at Comme des Garçons and alongside Junya Watanabe. Her clothes are hybrids, splicing a knit into a shirt or a trench into a dress, pairing contrasting fabrics so one garment reads as two. Menswear followed in 2009, and the label shows in Paris. Its collaborations with Nike, including the LDWaffle sneaker in 2019, made it widely known beyond fashion circles.
