Driven to alleviate her son's complaints of sore feet after he came home from ballet, Rose Repetto created her first pair of ballet shoes in 1947. Today, the label is one of the largest shoe labels in the world, still known for their ballet flat in its many iterations. Partnering with the Opéra National de Paris and other ballet companies, Repetto keeps in practice its primary mission of comfort for ballerinas. With a rich history of collaborations with big names such as Brigitte Bardot, Issey Miyake, and Karl Lagerfeld, and the brand's rich history with dancers from all over the world, the label grew in name and eventually created its own ready-to-wear segment inspired by artistic dance silhouettes.
